Hamsa Penannular Brooch - Glossy
Handmade Fair Trade in Indonesia
White Brass with glossy finish
Width - 1.5 inches
Height - 3.75 inches
Weight - .5 ounces
This new penannular brooch was inspired by brooches from north Africa, particularly Moroccan Amazigh brooches in which the stick points up from the ornament and the ring rotates to the side. This is a slightly different way of wearing the pin than our other Penannular Brooches in which the stick is horizontal and the ring rotates down.
This new brooch features a Hamsa, an open hand meant to be protective against negative forces or energies. The hand, when facing down, symbolizes openness to the abundance of the universe, and signifies prayers answered. We think this is definitely an energy from which we can all benefit - prosperity, protection, abundance, goodness.
