Cast and hand-polished white brass

5.25 inches long

In a recent article in The New Yorker, the author described research that showed that plants are sentient and act with intention.  They're like big nervous systems and big brains - they just move really, really slowly.  In one experiment, beans were grown in a room with nothing in it and they grew straight up but then a pole was introduced into the room and the beans leaned toward it until they grabbed it and wrapped themselves around it.  In this article, researchers claimed that the tendrils of beans and grapes don't just randomly hit something and twine around it, they actively look for and recognize things they can use as supports in their environments.  This cast Wild Grape Tendril Stick is the solidification of plant longing.
